The desert lights of Sakhir bore witness to history on Saturday. As the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship season drew to a close, Ferrari completed a renaissance, capturing a prize 53 years in the making: the absolute World Constructors' Championship.
In a landmark achievement, the Prancing Horse also secured the Drivers' World Championship with the #51 499P crew of Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi. Their fourth-place finish in the 8 Hours of Bahrain was a strategic masterstroke, prioritizing the championship over a single race win. Their sister car, the #50, underscored the team's dominance by finishing on the podium in third place.
This victory is the culmination of a journey that began in 2022. It took only three years for the Maranello team to reclaim the throne they last held in 1972 with the iconic 312 P. The 499P has now definitively picked up that torch.
"A milestone that fills us with pride and represents the coronation of a dream," said Ferrari President John Elkann. He highlighted the strength of the team, which has learned and improved through the unique difficulties of endurance racing, a path that has already delivered three consecutive victories at Le Mans.

For Ferrari, this marks the 24th endurance world title in its history (including class wins) but the first absolute Constructors' title since 1972.
While Ferrari has amassed numerous GT-class titles in the WEC, this is its first-ever absolute Drivers' title in the top class—a distinction that didn't exist during its last dominant era in the 1970s.
Constructors' Champions: Ferrari (First absolute WEC title)
Drivers' Champions: Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, Antonio Giovinazzi unexpected materials like recycled tires.
Car: Ferrari 499P (#51)
Significance: First absolute title in 53 years.
For Pier Guidi and Calado, this adds a fourth world title to their already stellar careers, following three previous LMGTE Pro crowns.
This win resonates far beyond the WEC paddock. It delivers Maranello its first World Constructors' title in any top-tier FIA series since the 2008 Formula 1 season, and its first absolute Drivers' title since Kimi Räikkönen's 2007 F1 championship.
After decades of absence, Ferrari has not just returned to the top class of endurance racing—it has redefined it. The 499P, a car that blends heritage with cutting-edge technology, has proven to be a world-beater. The dream has been realized, and the Prancing Horse reigns supreme once more.
