The standard F40 was a statement. The F40 LM was a weapon, stripped of all comfort and forged for a single purpose: victory.

The Ultimate Analogue Weapon

Raw, rare, and purpose-built. This is not just an F40; this is the legendary Ferrari F40 LM, captured in a moment of stillness that reveals its absolute intent.

The cropped composition focuses the eye on the essential elements of a true racing machine: the sharp, low splitter, the fixed headlights, and the aggressive NACA ducts. Stripped of all compromise, the deep shadows and brilliant Rosso Corsa red are left to tell the story. This is collector-grade wall art for those who understand what "LM" truly means: the ultimate analogue weapon.

The Curator's Notes: The Story Behind The Legend

The Rarest of All

The Ferrari F40 was Enzo Ferrari's final testament, a statement of pure, uncompromised performance. Yet, even before the paint was dry on the road cars, the most demanding clients yearned to unleash it on the racetrack. For this, Maranello turned to the only workshop they trusted to create their GT racing cars: Michelotto Automobili.

Giuliano Michelotto and his Padua-based team were far more than tuners; they were the de facto competition department for Ferrari's GT cars. Given the factory's blessing, they re-engineered the F40, unleashing a staggering 720 horsepower from the twin-turbo V8. Initially named F40 LM by its first commissioner, the French importer Charles Pozzi, the project was officially retitled "Competizione." Only 19 of these cars were born from Michelotto's workshop, each a hand-built testament to the art of transforming a masterpiece into a legend.

That legacy of passionate, privateer ambition championed by Pozzi continues to this day. When Ferrari's factory team made its triumphant return to victory at Le Mans in 2023, it re-ignited a golden era. Since the 2024 season, alongside the two official red hypercars, a third, privateer 499P—run by AF Corse and proudly carrying the Charles Pozzi sponsorship—fights for overall victory in the World Endurance Championship. The presence of that car on the same grid, battling the factory giants, proves that the very same spirit that willed the F40 LM into existence is still at the heart of Ferrari's endurance racing story today.
