Hand-Painted Artwork by Yan Denes
This artwork captures Giuseppe “Nino” Farina at the wheel of the Ferrari 500 F2 during the 1953 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Calm and composed behind the wheel, Farina’s presence reflects the quiet intensity of early Formula One. The open cockpit, exposed suspension, and graceful tension of the car reflect an era when racing was both elegant and unforgiving.
Farina holds a unique place in motorsport history: he was the first-ever Formula One World Champion, crowned in 1950. That same year, driving the legendary Alfa Romeo 158, he won the very first Formula One Grand Prix — held at Silverstone, the circuit that would become the spiritual home of Formula 1.
By 1953, Farina was racing for Ferrari, and the 500 F2 became the symbol of that new chapter. His return to Silverstone in red closed a historic loop: from first champion, to Scuderia driver, to racing once again on the track that started it all.
Yan Denes renders this moment with his signature technique — dry pastels and black stone on fine art paper. The work blends speed and silence, gesture and structure, becoming a visual tribute to legacy, motion, and memory.
This work is available in three collectible formats, including the one-of-a-kind original and two limited editions of only ten copies each.
Each version captures a different side of the same story:
Farina. Ferrari. And the track where Formula 1 began.
